Beyond the ChatGPT Shock: Discursive Hegemony in Japan’s AI Governance
This paper is a refined version of a term paper originally submitted for the Fall 2025 course, Studies in the Global Politics of Information (Cyber-AI Complex Nexus) and It’s also the writing sample I used for my Fall 2026 PhD applications. The core argument is pretty much the same, but I’ve shifted the primary analytical focus from co-occurrence frequency to sentence-level sentiment analysis, reduced ITS part and polished the writing.
I was quite proud of this piece as I had aligned my Statement of Purpose, CV, and letters of recommendation to focus on the political implications of AI technology.
